When I first met Film Composer Ghiya Rushidat, it was as though I were meeting an old friend. After only a few minutes of conversation, it seemed we have experienced similar events in our lives, including seeking comfort and inspiration in our creative interests. As an emerging film composer, Ghiya is working on several film scores and while we discussed the details of her upcoming photo shoot, we agreed that while it would be important to illustrate her props and other means to creating her music, it was equally important to highlight and focus on who Ghiya is as a person. I wanted to make sure to capture the essence that is Ghiya. Who is Ghiya? Why does the music she creates come out of her? What is her story? I truly believe we accomplished that mission. Joyful yet pensive, silly yet serious... All of the above, and then some. Here, I share some of those moments with you.
